Lauren PricePerthNow

About 300 residents in Perth’s south have lost power to their homes after two cars crashed into powerlines.

Police said a Nissan ute crashed into a power transformer on Mortimer Road in Casuarina about 1am on Thursday.

The vehicle rolled and sent powerlines onto the road, which then caused a Mitsubishi Triton to smash into the broken infrastructure.

Both drivers avoided injuries but it left about 300 people without power.
