West Coast’s winning run hasn’t just emboldened supporters, with punters also confident the usually under-the-pump club won’t be taking home any woodenware this season.

Following spectacular back-to-back wins, the Eagles have gone from being outright favourites to finish bottom to now only being $10 odds.

It comes as they also sit fifth from the bottom, having leapfrogged the hapless and winless North Melbourne and previously winless Hawthorn.

The Kangaroos are favourites to win the spoon following a dreadful performance on Sunday against the Hawks at Marvel Stadium.

The arrival of the number one draft pick and now fan favourite Harley Reid to Mineral Resources Park this season has taken the Eagles from strength to strength despite years of no success.

His performance against cross-town rivals Fremantle was one for the ages, picking up 20 disposals, three goals and one absolutely stellar pack mark to cap off a performance that almost had him adjudged the best afield.

Having not touched the ball in the opening 20 minutes of the match, Reid ignited the Eagles late in the opening term to set up a blistering start for the rank underdogs.

Reid flew for a superb goalsquare mark over Jeremy Sharp and Ethan Hughes, converting the set shot and then working his way into the action over the coming minutes.

He added a second from a free kick as the quarter expired and picked up immediately where he left off from the opening bounce after quarter-time.

Reid stormed out of the middle for a long-range attempt that sprayed wide, but his work wasn’t yet done.

The midfielder sat two-time Brownlow medallist Nat Fyfe on his backside in a show of strength, and his performance clearly inspired his teammates as West Coast took a firm grip on proceedings.
